Austin Garrett, AMFT
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
Austin has experience working with a variety of people and situations. He is passionate about working with couples in any stage of their relationship. He believes that emotions motivate behavior, and that understanding our own emotions is essential to growth and change. Having spent most of his time living in Utah, Austin feels that he is able to understand the unique cultural factors which influence relationships and families in the area. He also loves meeting and working with people who don't fit into the same mold.
Austin received his Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT) from Utah State University. During his time at USU, he was trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy (Level 1 & 2), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Discernment Counseling. He draws from these techniques and others in order to adapt to each individual's changing needs throughout the therapy process. This blend of approaches is especially well suited for couples in conflict who need help navigating the uncertainty.
When he isn't working, Austin enjoys cycling, trying new restaurants, and spending time in big cities. He is happily married with a child on the way. He works hard to maintain professional boundaries, but values getting to know his clients on a personal level.
